A Young Girl's Dream

Ever since I was a little girl I dreamed of running my own business and being my own boss. What kind of business I wanted to run was ever changing.

I love to cook, so maybe I would be a chef at my own little hometown diner.

I love quaint and cozy little shops, so maybe I would run my own specialty boutique on Martha's vineyard.

I have always had a creative flair and love crafting, so maybe I would open my own Etsy shop. For a while my best friend and I made a go at it.

Then I realized I was really good at taking photos, and I absolutely love doing it. Like my dad and my grandmother, I have had a camera in my hand most of my life. I loved going with my grandmother to a CVS to get my film developed and see all the photos I had taken. At one point I even had this fun little camera that took panoramic photos.

It didn't take me long to realize that not only was I really good at taking photos, I was really good with people. Have a natural way of making people smile and feel comfortable in front of the camera.

Over the years I learned how to use my camera and lighting and all kinds of other equipment that goes along with it, but all of this would be useless if I didn't have the skills to work with people.

My love of working with people has grown into a passion for empowering women of all ages to see the beauty in themselves through the art of photography.

When I was a little girl I had no idea how hard being your own boss can be, but to me it is worth every long day and late night. I have the flexibility to be home when my kids need me or to travel to New Hampshire for a mountain top wedding.

Thanks to an incredible support system and the encouragement of friends and family, I am doing what I love every single day.
